CERTIFIED ADVANCED ROLFER®️,

ROLF MOVEMENT®️ PRACTITIONER,

Hello & welcome. Although I currently live in the USA, many countries have been my home. New Zealand is my country of birth, although I have been shaped by my life in Europe, Tonga & the Middle East.

Chronic back pain and an avid curiosity led me to Rolfing. My yoga teacher at the time suggested I explore Rolfing to help my lower back instability. I read Ida Rolf’s book and the rest is history. I was curious about the cause of my chronic lower back pain - what was I doing or not doing with my body that was contributing to it? The stubborn side of me wasn't satisfied to accept the prognosis that this was 'just something that happens with age'. So the journey began.

Through Rolfing I came to some interesting realizations about how life had literally 'shaped' me - my entrance into the world, occupations, sports, accidents, injuries, surgeries, habitual patterns, and all the mind ‘stuff’ that comes with life, had all left their imprint on my body for better or worse.

Rolfing encouraged me to explore new patterns of movement that invited an ease & fluidity I hadn't accessed in years. It empowered me to trust and befriend my body outside of traditional ‘norms’. I discovered the human body has greater potential than we are often invited to realize, and through this amazing process I hope to evoke a curitosity to explore & reawaken that within your own body.

STUDIES/EXPERIENCES

My love of learning has lead me to various movement and bodywork training, seeking specialized teachers who offer unique perspectives and curiosities on what it is to be a human . Being a global citizen enabled me to witness how culture and society richly shape & influence our bodies. So it made sense to study in various countries - India, the Middle East, Europe, UK, Australasia, North & South America.

I was a yoga teacher for many years, including pre & postnatal yoga, which in turn inspired me to train as a doula. This was probably one of my most humbling life experiences. Bearing witness to how we all begin.

Yoga, including meditative retreat, has been a constant grounding force in my life. I have attended monastic retreat all over the world, in various lineages, & I now carry that in to my everyday life & craft.

I have studied Visceral & Neural Manipulation, Cranio Sacral Therapy and Visceral Lymphatic Balancing through the the Barral Institute and Upledger. Currently I am studying with Canadian trained osteopath, Rolfer®️ & Berry Method teacher, Ron Murray. I graduated from Basic Rolfing Training in Munich in 2014 & completed my Advanced Rolfing Training at the Dr Ida Rolf Institute in Boulder, in 2023.

The movement explorations that are facilitating my own somatic awareness have, & in many instances continue to be The Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Continuum Movement, 5Rhythms, GAGA dance, paddleboarding, Foundation Training, Functional Patterns, Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis & walks in nature with my two playful dogs & husband.

I love any practice that evokes curiosity, fluidity, stability and play, as well as exploring the balance of activity and rest according to the body/phase of life needs.

Expect me to forever be moving and learning. The human body keeps me constantly curious and just when I feel so full of knowledge, something presents itself to remind me of just how little I know and so the learning spiral continues …
